GENERAL INFORMATION

VENUE

Mishkenot Sha'ananim, Yemin Moshe, Jerusalem, is the Course venue.

Mishkenot Sha’ananim is housed in a famous historical building dating from 1860; it was the first residential building that Sir Moses Montefiore built for Jews outside the Old City walls. It is an inspiring and charming venue, offering a spectacular view of the Tower of David, the Old City walls and the Judean Desert.

LETTER OF INVITATION

Upon request, the Secretariat will send a personal invitation to participate in the Course. It should be understood that such an invitation is only meant to assist participants in raising travel funds or obtaining a visa and does not represent a commitment on the part of the Organizing Committee.

CLIMATE AND CLOTHING

The weather in September is warm during the day, but cooler at night. Clothing is informal for all occasions. We suggest bringing a light jacket for the evenings and don’t forget your sunglasses, hat and comfortable walking shoes.

PASSPORTS AND VISAS

Foreign guests, prior to booking your flight ticket, please ensure that your passport is valid. Participants from some countries require a visa to enter Israel. We suggest that you check this with your travel agent or on the website of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

AIR TRAVEL

Direct flights exist from most major airports in North America, Europe, India, China, Thailand and Africa, by El Al Israel Airlines as well as by other international carriers. It is recommended to book your international air travel to/from Ben Gurion International Airport (Tel Aviv) with your local travel agent and/or on the internet.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION BETWEEN BEN GURION INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

AND COURSE HOTELS IN JERUSALEM

  • Taxi Service – The cost for a one-way trip is approximately US$88, depending on time of day and number of pieces of luggage. The trip should take approximately 40-60 minutes depending on time of day.

  • Nesher shared transfer service is available from Ben-Gurion Airport. There may be a waiting time as the driver only departs when there are 10 passengers. Rate per person is approximately NIS 66 ~ US$ 18. There is a “Nesher” information desk at the airport.

  • By public transportation - Bus no 485 (Afikim company) is available from Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 every hour at a cost of 16 NIS (approx US$4,5). The average travel time is approx. 1.5 hours depending on traffic. For stations (with map) and schedules please click here.

  • By train
    Trains to Jerusalem are available outside of the Arrivals Hall (Level G) of Ben Gurion Airport. Lines run every 30 minutes and the journey takes 21 minutes. Please take the train to Yitzhak Navon station and take a taxi from there to your hotel. 

     

GROUND TRANSPORTATION BETWEEN BEN GURION INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

AND TEL AVIV FOR THOSE TAKING OPTIONAL PRE-COURSE TOURS

Best and quickest would be to take a cab only from the official taxi station at the airport for a short ride to your

Tel Aviv hotel. The cost (payable in Shekels) should not be more than US$40.

Personal travel, luggage and health insurance are recommended. Please purchase this from your local travel agent. Kindly note the organizers and other sponsors cannot be responsible for participants lacking appropriate insurance coverage. All tours are booked on the express condition that Target Conferences shall not be held responsible for and shall be exempt from all liability in respect of any loss, damage, injury or accident, to any person or his or her luggage or any other property, for any reason whatsoever.
